Okay, thank you for coming to look for my next article in this series on audio effects. In recent weeks we've covered a number of commonly used effects such as reverb, delay, flange, and compression. All these effects have a range of fields of use, and probably used every day in the recording studio later in a wide range of different musical styles. We talked about the basic functionality of each effect, you can decide whether and how they end up using in their production process.

WeÂ'll moves today to a couple other effects that are probably less used than other weÂ've spoken. DonÂ't let this fact deter you from reading other tools, since these two effects, vocoder and Auto-Tune are very flexible and powerful that you add to your arsenal of study. Vocoder

The vocoder (name derived from encoders is a "voice") is a speech analyzer and speech synthesizer. It was originally designed to be used as a speech coder for telecommunications industry in the 1930s. It is used for secure radio communication, where the voice must be digitized, encrypted and transmitted in a narrow channel voice to broadband. How the Vocoder works is that it is the fundamental wave of the human voice produces. This carrier wave is the fundamental frequency (the lowest frequency in a harmonic series). He then measured how their spectral characteristics change time recording to talk to someone. It follows a series of numbers representing these modified frequencies at any given time the user speaks. To recreate speech, the vocoder simply reverses the process, creating the fundamental frequency in an oscillator, then passing through a stage that filters the frequency content based on the original series of symbols. For music applications, a source of musical sounds (like a guitar) is used as the carrier, instead of extracting the fundamental frequency. The vocoder is famous for building robots resonant voices, and has been used in the film to create surprisingly, the voice of the robot.

Auto-Tune

Auto-Tune is used for pitch correction on vocal performance instrumental. It works by using algorithms of digital signal processing (many from the geophysical industry) to continuously detect the height of a
periodic input signal and switches to a desired tone. The harmonization is intended to improve the quality of a musical vocal track without revealing the singing as processed. It works either in a studio environment to correct the performance of singers and musicians, having recorded their absence. It has also been widely used with extreme values of parameters to create a sound of a different voice mail.
